Maldives Inflight Catering Pvt Ltd (MIC) has announced the appointment of Mohamed Hilmy as the General Manager of Madifushi Private Island, a luxury resort in the picturesque Meemu Atoll. A seasoned professional in the Maldives’ hospitality industry, Hilmy brings over two decades of experience to his new role, with a strong record of leadership and excellence in luxury resort management.

Hilmy’s career began at Bandos Maldives, one of the country’s earliest resort destinations. Over the years, he ascended to senior management positions across renowned resorts, including Sun Island Resort & Spa, LUX* South Ari Atoll, Angsana Velavaru, and Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru. His international expertise extends beyond the Maldives, with prior roles as Hotel Manager at Angsana Bintan in Indonesia and General Manager at Sun Aqua Pasikudah in Sri Lanka. Hilmy served as Group General Manager at Sun Siyam Resorts, where he led operations across multiple properties, including Sun Aqua Vilu Reef, Sun Aqua Iru Veli, and Olhuveli Beach & Spa Maldives. His most recent role was General Manager at Furaveri Maldives, where he was instrumental in establishing the resort as a premier destination. In recognition of his dedication and industry expertise, Hilmy was awarded the ‘Best General Manager’ title at the World Luxury Hotel Awards in 2019.
