Ritz-Carlton and EHL Hospitality Business School have announced the launch of a new employee training program in the Maldives. The program has been developed with Singapore-based property developer Pontiac Land Group, and aims to train and retain employees of the two hotels. The Fari Islands archipelago, home to the Ritz-Carlton Maldives, will serve as the training ground for the program, with nearby Fari Campus offering living quarters and recreational facilities. The program has a longer duration than EHL's traditional apprenticeship to encourage student retention. The first batch of students graduated on April 12, completing the initial Foundation level. According to Sidhant Bedi, a consultant at EHL Advisory Services, the program will benefit new and existing employees, as well as help to address high attrition rates in the Maldives tourism industry.
